CEDAR Inspiration Day
A Mentoring scheme event
9 May 2010
Brussels
CEDAR held its first mentoring 'Inspiration Day' in partnership with ABPM in the Belgian capital, Brussels in May 2010. It brought together business representatives, CEDAR mentors and young people aged 15 to 18 around themed information stalls for one-to-one exchange, advice and inspiration. Offering hundreds of young people access to a wealth of personal and professional development opportunities, the Inspiration Day particularly targeted young people from ethnic minority backgrounds. CEDAR members came from France, Belgium and Netherlands to take part and share their expertise. Professions represented ranged from fashion design, to research, cuisine and engineering. The event was also delighted to welcome several high profile politicians including Hamza Fassi-Fihri, deputy mayor of Brussels and deputy Prime Minister, Joelle Milquet as well as Belgian footballers Sinan Bolat and Christian Bentéké.
